Dive expands capital to become an artificial intelligence provider with global reach

  • February 14, 2023

José Luis Flórez, founder of Dive, is appointed CEO, and Fernando Rodés will be the new chairman to give the company an international presence.

The artificial intelligence company announces that it has completed a new round of capital expansion. The company will be led by its founder, José Luis Flórez, who takes on the role of CEO. ISPD, a cognitive marketing company, and other initial investors, strengthen their investment in the company. The new board is chaired by Fernando Rodés, Chairman of ISPD.

With this operation, Dive begins a new phase of commercial expansion in Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America to help companies in three objectives: transferring to the physical world the interaction and consumer knowledge capabilities they have in the digital, developing industrial activities in a context of maximum quality and safety for the integrity of professionals, and protecting the environment through early detection of fires and polluting emissions. The company has 50 professionals, mostly software and AI specialists, and teams distributed in Asturias, Madrid, Barcelona, and Dubai.

“We are convinced that starting from a design that reconciles ethical principles of protecting privacy and personal identity with the use of cognitive algorithms, Dive will occupy a reference position in the ecosystem of European artificial intelligence companies,” comments José Luis Flórez.

Dive’s goal is to distribute artificial intelligence across all decision-making processes of an organization, transforming each piece of data into a means to achieve business impact while preserving individuals’ privacy. With this new expansion, Dive positions itself to lead the segment.

Among its various business units, Dive has a line specialized in computer vision whose value proposition revolves around Dive Smart Spaces, a platform that addresses privacy protection by design, meaning it does not use facial recognition algorithms, and even if it detects identifying features, it facilitates their removal in all videos or other processed materials to prevent person recognition. The fact that privacy is one of the platform’s basic design principles means that the possibility of revealing a person’s identity is not subject to the decision of a decision-maker but is protected by the technical infrastructure itself. Technical excellence and an unconditional commitment to ethical business, which puts citizens ahead of all stakeholders, place Dive among the most innovative companies in the design of artificial intelligence products.

Dive Smart Spaces has three areas of application:

  • Behavior: optimizes interaction experiences in stores, hotels, and public spaces by understanding the relationship between the characteristics of physical spaces and people’s activity.
  • Safety: creates safe workspaces at construction sites and factories, alerting to risks to professional integrity and ensuring their safety.
  • Sustainability: minimizes environmental risks by detecting fires, floods, emissions, and leaks.

Dive counts among its clients companies in the transport, energy, industry, distribution, and public administration sectors, in Europe and the Middle East. In all cases, the application of Dive technology occurs in large infrastructures, where the solidity and scalability of the technology are necessary to guarantee extensive, fast, and economically efficient deployment.
